Picking up a new trailer is an adventure in itself!

Since Monday 6 October, we’ve added a great new expansion to our fleet: a extendable B-Double Slider, specially built for LHV transport in Germany! A special addition we are proud of – and of course it first had to be picked up and approved.

Our colleague Robert Benders had the honour of heading to Sneek together with Niels van Hasselt to collect the new trailer. What started as an early morning drive turned into a day full of technology, pride and a big dose of enthusiasm. Robert tells us how he experienced it:

My experience picking up the new trailer

“Just a little story about my experience picking up the trailer and going through the TÜV approval for Germany!

When I heard that I was going to collect a trailer together with Niels, I had no idea what to expect. I mostly felt excited, because well — picking up a brand-new trailer isn’t exactly something you do every day, of course!

So there we were, leaving for Sneek at six in the morning. Once we arrived, we received a warm welcome and were immediately introduced to our new addition. The trailer was coupled, thoroughly inspected and we were given an explanation of how everything worked. After that, I got to drive it myself for a bit to get a feel for it.

Well, that sure took some getting used to, since I normally only drive city trailers. But wow, what an amazing thing to drive! Truly an experience in itself.

Together with the mechanic we fine-tuned everything, and then we could enjoy the long drive back from Sneek to Uden, where we showed off the combination to the rest of the Sanders family.

But it didn’t end there — the trailer also had to be approved for use in Germany. I was able to see that whole process from start to finish as well. I didn’t drive myself, but it was great to see how such a combination moves and what all is involved.

All in all, another great experience gained, and on to the next adventure together with my colleague Niels van Hasselt!”
